Specimen
Routine specimen options:
Buccal swab
Buccal swab sampling is taken by rubbing a soft swab on the inside of the cheek and it is painless and non-invasive.
Remark: Do not eat and drink (other than water intake) or brush your teeth an hour before buccal swab collection.
Blood
Small amount of blood (i.e. around 3mL or 3cc) will be drawn from the individual.
Remarks: For individual who recently has blood transfusion as a recipient in the past 6 months and/or as a recipient of organ transplant in the past should consider not using blood specimen for DNA relationship testing.
Routine specimens collected by technical person with witness are suitable for legal cases purpose.

Note: Due to the nature and instability of special specimens, there are chances that it might not be able to produce any conclusive DNA result.

Report might take from 2 to 3 working days for most applications after submission of completed document and receipt of specimens in the laboratory.
